Description

Accucare, a family-owned home medical equipment and supplies provider serving over 20 counties in Western North Carolina is seeking to add a chart auditor to our customer service team. The Chart Auditor is responsible for ensuring all incoming patient orders are facilitated correctly, efficiently and billed accordingly. The Chart Auditor assists with and is responsible for all day-to-day activities associated with initial requests for services, review of patient documentation, intake/data, insurance verification, authorizations, compliance and follow up. The Chart Auditor is responsible for ensuring operations are executed in a manner which maximizes effectiveness and efficiency, and complies with all legal and regulatory requirements associated with health care providers. The Chart Auditor will also support the Customer Service Supervisor and General Manager in overall business planning and corporate compliance

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Include the following, other duties may be assigned

  • Complete Patient Chart Audits per Accreditation Guideline
  • Understand ICD10 / HCPCs codes and medical necessity guidelines
  • Review clinical documentation and ensure that it supports medical necessity of ordered equipment and/or supplies
  • Follow up with referring providers for additional documentation that is needed
  • Coordinate medical equipment billing with billing department to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of care
  • Assist with incoming calls and forward to appropriate department
  • Maintain patient data in an efficient manner and provide reports when needed.

    Education, Credentials, Certification, and/or Experience:
    • High School Diploma or GED, 2-year degree preferred
    • 2 years related experience and/or training in medical services related fields
      Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
      • Strong interpersonal / CSR skills
      • Strong verbal and written communication skills
      • Familiar with medical terminology
      • Good computer skills
      • Good organizational skills
