Job Description Job Details Level Experienced Job Location Asheville Facility - Asheville, NC Position Type Full Time Education Level High School Salary Range $19.00 - $22.00 Hourly Job Shift Day Job Category Manufacturing Description Maintenance Mechanic - Asheville Reports to: Maintenance Lead Supervises: N/A Summary Statement: Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Lead and guidance of the Plant Manager, the employee in this position maintains and supports all physical structures and mechanical operations following all established work and safety procedures. Essential Job Functions /n - Perform scheduled, unscheduled, routine and preventive maintenance on industrial sewing machines as well as on all plant equipment, including industrial sewing machines. /n - Perform routine inspections on all plant equipment. /n - Diagnose mechanical problems, determining and carrying out corrective action. /n - Perform facility maintenance on required projects involving electrical wiring, plumbing, physical structures, and fixtures that are within the employee's scope of knowledge. /n - Complete production related, physical plant related, and property related construction, maintenance, refurbishing and installation of new equipment. /n - Work jointly with the Trainer to design/improve any machine, workstation, or fixtures that will allow a visually impaired person to perform a task. /n - Provide backup for Utility Person - Maintenance. /n /n Marginal Job Functions /n - Assist other personnel as time and knowledge permit. /n - Participate in training and meetings as requested. /n - Perform other duties as assigned. /n /n Qualifications Working Conditions /n - Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop and turn for a minimum of 10 hours per day. /n - Must be able to lift 50 pounds and carry for a minimum of 20 feet. /n - Must be able to work both scheduled and unscheduled overtime. /n - Must wear steel toed shoes. /n /n Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities /n - Must be able to read, write and follow verbal and written instructions. /n - Must be able to hear and discern by sound equipment malfunctions. /n - Must be able to work professionally as part of a team with other department employees. /n - Must be able to perform effectively under conditions of fluctuating workloads. /n - Must be able to comprehend and perform duties using established work and safety procedures. /n /n Education and Work Experience /n - A high school diploma or equivalent is required. /n - Experience in industrial sewing machine maintenance is required /n - Previous experience in physical plant maintenance is required. /n - Training/experience in mechanical, electrical and general plumbing is preferred. /n - Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift certification. /n - Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable through the company. /n /n ISO 5.3 Organizational Roles, Responsibilities and Authorities IFB employees have the responsibility and authority to ensure to produce first quality products that meet our customer requirements.
