Description: Eliada Homes, Inc. is seeking a Day Treatment Teacher to grow our faculty who can offer their experience, commitment, and compassion to working with young people within our agency and throughout our community. Eliada's Day Treatment Teacher works within the day treatment classroom providing individual and group instruction in core academics through highly engaging experiential and traditional lessons. The teacher also provides behavioral support and helps students identify and practice appropriate classroom behavior. In addition, the teacher is responsible for maintaining lesson plans, attendance and grades, and mid-term and quarterly report cards, along with behavioral rubrics and other documentation as needed. Department: Day Treatment Status: Professional/Non-exempt/Salaried Benefit Eligible: Yes PTO & Sick Leave Eligible: Yes Salary: $35,360 - $39,520 Requirements: Major Responsibilities

  • Develop quarterly curriculum planning guides and daily lesson plans for Day Treatment students in accordance with the NC Standard Course of Study, while differentiating for individual needs, specific IEP goals, various learning styles, and class dynamics. Provide effective, engaging instruction in assigned academic areas.
  • Effectively implement the Eliada Day Treatment model and curriculum in order to teach social, behavioral and life skills that contribute and support a healthy learning environment and contribute to students' successful return to a community education setting. Provide 1:6 QP and 1:4 staff to student ratios in the program.
  • Complete mental health, medical, and program documentation in compliance with licensure, accreditation, and Medicaid/Mental Health standards.
  • Ensure safety, security and health of students by providing constant monitoring and supervision. Thoroughly and effectively utilize the agency's crisis intervention model, including the ability to perform physical restraint techniques, if necessary.
  • Evaluate the academic and classroom behavioral progress of students, which includes but is not limited to, keeping daily attendance and participation records, preparing progress and grade reports, communicating with case managers, participating in the development of Student Education Plans and Individual Education Plans. Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. Prefer middle grade, secondary, or special education teaching certificate as specified by the NC Department of Public Instruction. A minimum of two years teaching experience or direct residential experience with the target population is preferred. Must successfully complete pre-service workshop, including physical restraint training. PI201740997
