(ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1
year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings.
Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be
considered. This role is an excellent opportunity for skilled Sign
Language Interpreters to provide essential support within K-12
educational settings. The position requires interpreting services
for general education students in middle and high school
environments, ensuring effective communication and accessibility
for deaf and hard-of-hearing students. Location: Hendersonville, TN
Assignment Duration: Contract through the current school year
(CSY), with the start date ASAP until May 22, 2026 Work Setting:
On-site, full-time (8 AM 3 PM), with assignments at two middle
schools and one high school in the Franklin area Caseload: General
education students across middle and high school levels Key
Responsibilities: Facilitate clear communication between deaf or
hard-of-hearing students and their peers, teachers, and school
staff Provide accurate and timely sign language interpretation in
classroom and school-wide settings Collaborate with educators and
support personnel to ensure compliance with accessibility
requirements Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all
student interactions Qualifications and Experience: Valid licensure
as a Sign Language Interpreter Educational Interpreter Performance
Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 or higher Strong knowledge of K-12
educational environments and terminology Previous experience
interpreting in school settings is preferred, with a tiered pay
range based on years of experience: 0-2 years: $40-$43/hour 3-5
years: $43-$46/hour 6-9 years: $46-$49/hour 10 years: $49-$52/hour
