Job Description:

Hours will fluctuate monthly, varying anywhere from 0 - 40 hours per month.Position Concept Oversee services provided to youth who reside temporarily in the program. The primary duty of staff is to ensure that consumers in the program receive the best possible care for as long as they remain in the custody of the home. Essential Functions * Supervise youth in program on a 24-hour-a-day basis: Monitor youth behavior on and off property, coordinate recreational and service activities for youth, dispense medications as prescribed by a medical professional, transport youth to and from school, provide an appropriate adult role model for youth in care. * Complete tasks required to run the group home household: Appropriately purchase food and household supplies, plan and prepare meals, maintain the cleanliness of the house and grounds, complete auto maintenance as necessary. * Admit youth to the program: Manage referrals and arrange intakes as needed, complete assessments and appropriate forms as required, assess immediate needs of youth, search youth belongings. * Complete necessary documentation and paperwork in a timely manner: Accurate Financial Reports, School Food Service Reports and Inventories, travel logs, time records, critical Incident Reports, daily Case Notes, data collection and PQI requirements, other required documentation. * Participate in required meetings: Staff meetings, pre-service training, in-service trainings monthly, annual required trainings needed to maintain certifications, counseling sessions with youth and their families. * Work with and act as liaison between schools, law enforcement, community members, social service agencies, and parents/guardians to coordinate services being provided to youth in care. * Communicate with other staff regarding youth's case and behaviors and all scheduling for the day including meals, school transportation, appointments, visits, staff breaks, intakes, discharges, family sessions, and daily room checks. Position Specifications Education: Be at least 21 years old. High School Graduate or Equivalent. Prefer Bachelors Degree from an Accredited College or University. Experience: Detail oriented and able to manage multiple assignments independently. Knowledge of state and federal laws, regulations, and practices related to Family Foster Care Program. Skills: Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Proficient in systems including PC software, spreadsheets, Word, Access, PowerPoint and other applications. Ability to maintain good rapport and demonstrate constructive problem-solving skills. Physical Demands: Must be capable of lifting or moving office supplies and materials up to 25 pounds. The office may be a busy and noisy facility from time to time. Able to pass health screening exam. Other: Must meet state criminal background check requirements. Travel: Must be able to meet requirements for Eckerd's Auto Insurance and be able to drive for business purposes. Incumbent must possess and maintain a valid NC driver's license and have reliable transportation. Required to travel frequently between office and locations within the service area, attend meetings and conferences required to fulfill the obligations and responsibilities of the position.
