Job Description:

Well established and growing manufacturing company, with sales over $700 million dollars has an excellent opportunity for a Materials Manager. The Materials Managerdefines the processes and manages MRP usage, scheduling, purchasing, and inventory control functions; leads Continuous Improvement efforts to implement best practices and methodologies. Essential Duties/Responsibilities:* Reduce total space used to store inventory and drive material handler efficiency.* Improve inventory delays, including implementing a strategy to absorb increase/decrease in customer volume, without impacting cost/inventory.* Lead continuous improvement / lean projects within materials/purchasing.* Optimize / minimize plant-wide inventory (with proper safety stock).* Monitor and report key performance indicators of inventory to management.* Implement best-practice materials settings and reporting.* Lead plant-wide inventory process improvements.* Direct buyers to manage vendor releases to ensure proper sourcing, consistency, and term of releases.* Drive reduction of inventory days through the use of vendor consignment and delivery schedule.* Responsible for resolving critical stock shortage issues due to supply or demand issues.* Responsible to drive and maintain $0 expedited inbound freight.* Provide leadership in materials matters.* Lead and direct expeditors.* Drive accuracy of customer interactions with systems.* Direct production scheduling function to meet on-time delivery goals and customer requirements.Job Requirements:-- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university-- Minimum eight years materials management background with the emphasis on procurement, production planning and inventory control required.-- Strong understanding of ERP systems and operations required.Please reference Job Code 11-11E when responding to this position.
