Posting Description Henderson County Habitat for Humanity, Inc. is seeking to fill the position of President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Employed by the Board of Directors and reporting to the Board Chair, the President & CEO is responsible for all aspects of the Affiliate's activities and direction of the management team consisting of the Vice President & COO, the Director of Finance & HR, and the Director of Development. The President & CEO directs the senior leadership team in its critical roles of strategic decision-making and operational management as HCHH fulfills its strategic plan and pursues its ambitious vision. Required Skills and Abilities: * A thorough knowledge of and experience in human resources and personnel management. * Interpersonal skills are essential to deal effectively with volunteers, employees, future and current Habitat homeowners, professional service providers, clients, funding sources, other community not-for-profits, and government agencies. * Administrative and project management skills and experience are necessary to organize and effectively conduct the business of the Affiliate, to provide stewardship of the Affiliate's resources, and to function as the liaison with Habitat for Humanity International. * Strong resource development skills and experience. * Experience in community and public relations including media. * Experience in the solicitation and acquisition of major donors, house sponsors, and in maintaining an ongoing relationship with them. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * The President & CEO is responsible and accountable to the Board of Directors for the effective leadership and efficient financial, operational, and administrative management of Henderson County Habitat for Humanity and its numerous housing developments, and serves as a non-voting member of the Board of Directors and of its committees. * Lead the Board of Directors in planning the strategic direction of the Affiliate. * Manage the Affiliate staff to ensure that all program and organizational goals are met as planned. * Evaluate the performance of Affiliate staff at least once annually and address and resolve personnel situations as they arise. * Serve actively on committees of the Board of Directors as well as special committees and projects authorized by the * Board; work with committee chairpersons to plan and coordinate their work and to facilitate the implementation of approved plans. * Coordinate the preparation of the Affiliate's annual operating plan and financial budget(s) and closely monitor their implementation. * Cultivate and maintain new major donors. Qualifications: * Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a related field. * Minimum 10 years' experience with a proven track record in effective leadership in project management, organizational management and managing work efforts across functions. * Must be goal-driven, results-oriented and committed to the organization's effort to increase its ability to have a positive impact on the service area's affordable housing challenges. * Must have an understanding of the mission, history, values and goals of our Christian organization and be able to communicate this information to diverse groups of potential donors and volunteers. * The ability to work effectively as a team member with staff and volunteers is essential. * Ability to maintain confidential information, and be of high ethical standards. * Able to adapt to and excel in a fast-paced environment. * Ability to effectively communicate in a professional manner with vendors, staff, board members, families, and anyone associated with Habitat for Humanity. * A successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills which support and enable sound decision-making. * Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. * A commitment to racial and economic equity and proven experience working successfully with diverse stakeholders. * Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and demonstrated commitment to the values and the mission of HCHH.
