tuition assistance. SummaryAs a Senior Project Manager on our Civil
Site Team, you will provide overall management direction for
clients, projects, and production personnel on your team. You will
coordinate assignments of design and production personnel under
your charge. You will be responsible for developing project scope,
fees for services, negotiation of contracts for agreements of
engineering services, project budgeting, project scheduling, and
client communication or the overseeing of completion of these tasks
by other appropriate staff. You will also be responsible for
securing multidisciplinary services and necessary design assistance
from other design groups within McGill. You will regularly
interface with clients to ensure the highest level of client
satisfaction and to help identify and develop future business
opportunities. You will work closely with the Raleigh Office
Manager and the Marketing Team to develop and deliver proposals and
presentations. Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesTo perform this
job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each
essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are
representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
You will plan, coordinate, and direct design activities to ensure
goals and objectives of all projects are accomplished within the
prescribed scheduling, budget, and funding parameters. In addition
to being an administrative leader, you will be involved directly in
the design of projects including signing and sealing documents as
the responsible engineer in charge. In collaboration with the
Raleigh Office Manager and Civil Practice Area Leader, you will be
responsible for developing project scope, fees for services,
negotiation of contracts for agreements of engineering services,
project budgeting, project scheduling, and client communication.
You will work across disciplines and across office locations to
secure multidisciplinary resources within McGill. In addition to
internal coordination, you will coordinate services of outside
consultants. You will be entrusted with maintaining project quality
by utilizing McGill's internal quality control practices and
procedures on each of your projects from conceptual planning
through final design. You will interact with current clients on a
regular basis to help identify and develop future business
opportunities and maintain healthy relationships.
- Assist the Raleigh Office Manager in developing and maintaining
client relationships, project budgets and schedules and assist in
maintaining the technical and financial performance of the team's
projects that come under your direct charge and control.
- Consistently meet and then exceed client expectations by
ensuring accurate, complete, and timely communication of
information to and from clients, the Raleigh Office Manager, and
other firm staff.
- Complete monthly billings on timeline provided by Raleigh
Office Manager, Vice President, and Chief Financial Officer.
- Develop revenue projections for projects as requested.
- Participate in appropriate area and regional conferences and
organizations which would include presentations and the pursuit of
leadership positions within applicable organizations.
- Oversee and ensure the preparation of accurate, complete, and
value-added work products by monitoring and improving the document
delivery process; identifying and implementing ideas that save
client time and money or that effectively solve potential
problems/opportunities; reviewing interim work products/submittals
and providing needed feedback regarding accuracy, completeness, and
value; and mentoring firm team members.
- Oversee and ensure timely document delivery by
monitoring/adjusting schedules; communicating with Raleigh Office
Manager, Project Managers, client and project team members;
requesting and managing the needed resources; and completing
assigned tasks on or ahead of schedule.
- Oversee and pursue increases in the flow of new work by finding
expanded/new work opportunities with existing clients; assist
Raleigh Office Manager and marketing staff in finding opportunities
to serve new clients; and assist in the preparation of
proposals.
- Oversee and ensure the delivery of profitable projects by
monitoring Project Schedules and Budgets; monitoring actions to
address budget deviations (hours/$) and additional service
opportunities; verifying and encouraging continuous open
communication among client and firm team members; and verifying the
appropriate use of available technology.
- Develop firm staff through on-the-job training and regular use
of project reviews and staff progression discussions.
- Accept responsibility for giving, seeking, and acting on
feedback needed for personal career development and peak
professional performance; to keep regional Office Manager apprised
of project status and needs; to resolve project-related technical
problems; and to address team-related personnel issues.
- Conduct staff evaluations and provide necessary input related
to any salary or bonus considerations for team members. Ensure
company policies are observed and recommend disciplinary action as
necessary. Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or
related field and a minimum 10 years of civil / site design
experience with at least 3 years demonstrating progressive
experience in the management of engineering projects and/or
personnel.
- Existing licensure as a Professional Engineer with the ability
to become licensed in North Carolina within three (3) months of
hire.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
- Excellent writing and communication skills required.
- AutoCAD - Civil 3D experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license required; overnight travel is
