AreaFranklin/Andrews POSITION SUMMARYProvide direct nursing care
and instruct/supervise the LPN and Hospice Aide staff in the
delivery of nursing care to clients. Will perform patient visits, 4
to 6 per day depending on location and acuity of patients served.
May perform 2-4 admissions depending on length of shift and
complexity of patient. At times they may receive assignments that
are a combination of admissions & patient visits – adjusted
accordingly depending on the mix of each. ESSENTIAL DUTIES &
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Practice within the scope of license, certification or
registration, where applicable, and as required by law and
regulation
- Assess the patient's physical and mental health including the
patient's reaction to illnesses and treatment regimens.
- Record and report the results of the nursing assessment.
- Plan, initiate, deliver, and evaluate appropriate nursing
acts.
- Teach, assign, or supervise other personnel in implementing the
treatment regimen.
- Collaborate with other health care providers in determine the
appropriate patient and family-centered plan.
- Implement the treatment and pharmaceutical regimen prescribed
by any person authorized by State law to prescribe the
regimen.
- Provide teaching and counseling about the patient's
health.
- Report and record the plan for care, nursing care given, and
the patient's response to that care.
- Supervise, teach, and evaluate those who perform nursing
functions and administer nursing programs and nursing
services.
- Provide for the maintenance of safe and effective nursing care,
whether rendered directly or indirectly.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS,
ABILITIES
- Must be willing and able to care for patients with infectious
disease processes unless approved accommodations
- Knowledge of Federal, State and Local regulations and Medicare
Conditions of Participation
- Knowledge of HIPAA privacy rules and regulations
- Knowledge of electronic medical records systems
- Demonstrate basic data entry skills

QUALIFICATIONSExperience:
- Two years of clinical experience preferredLicensures &
Certifications: (if applicable)
- Valid NC RN license
- Valid Driver's License and proof of automobile insurance
SUMMARY OF PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Walking, standing, sitting, bending, reaching, twisting,
crouching/squatting, kneeling
- Flexion/Extension of arms/wrist
- Hand dexterity to include gripping, pushing/pulling and
writing
- Lifting/carrying of 50 lbs. often OTHER DUTIES
- Work to achieve performance goals, pursue progress toward
individual development plan (IDP) and demonstrate Four Seasons
values and competencies
- Participate in department and staff meeting as required
- Participate in ongoing education and training offered by the
agency and/or required by nursing supervisor as part of individual
education plan of RN
- Comply with company policies, procedures, guidelines, and
Mission Statement
- Practice safety and infection control methods
- Assist in providing 24 hour on-call services, including
coverage of at least one holiday per year
- Assess for the need of other disciplines
- Perform other but similar duties as assigned Four Seasons
