Job Description:
Under the supervision of the Computer Applications Manager,
responsible for integrating the clinical applications into the
clinical business processes. This includes project planning, system
testing, super user training and application support. Acts as a
liaison between IT and physicians/clinical departments in
addressing requests for system access, training and system
solutions. This includes, but is not limited to awareness of the
appropriate use of applications throughout the hospital as well as
ensuring the systems provide an effective tool for providing
patient care. Collaboration with IT staff and all levels of
hospital staff is required. Prepares documentation for new and
existing system processes. Assists with the ongoing training of the
physicians and clinical staff. Participates in clinical user groups
and identifies processes that could be improved by system
enhancements. Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS:The following
qualifications are the minimum requirements necessary to adequately
perform this job. However, any equivalent combination of
experience, education and training which provides the necessary
knowledge, skills and abilities would be acceptable, subject to any
legal and/or regulatory requirements.A. Education: RN license
requiredB. Experience: Minimum 3 years clinical experience is
required. In addition, experience working with information system
implementations in an acute care setting is preferred. C. Skills:
Knowledge of healthcare software applications and usage. Must be
able to implement/support several projects simultaneously. Must be
able to effectively communicate with end users, management,
technical staff and vendors at the required level of proficiency
and detail. Must be adept at problem solving, analytical assessment
of information systems and logical thinking.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:The Clinical Informatics Systems RN works
primarily in an "office environment" with frequent contact with
other employees and occasional contact with patients, which can
provide potential exposure to various communicable diseases and
body fluids, as well as other environmental hazards. He/She is
continuously mobile throughout the working day, which includes
standing and walking for extensive periods of time as well as
bending, stooping, and stretching. He/She must be able to lift
items that weigh up to 35 lbs, work under stressful conditions and
