Job Title: Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST) Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Operating Room CST Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Level 1 trauma experience required. License: Certification through NBSTSA required. Certifications: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Must-Have: Strong skills in Vascular, Thoracic, Neuro, Ortho, ENT, and Urology. Description: General knowledge of all service lines is required. Must have experience in a Level 1 trauma setting. Strong skills in Vascular, Thoracic, Neuro, Ortho, ENT, and Urology are necessary. The unit does not offer set schedules but attempts to accommodate individual requests if feasible. Floating to other units or campuses may be required based on census concerns. Staff will only float to units they are qualified for and performing tasks for which competencies have already been demonstrated and documented. Orientation hours are provided. Pre-assignment testing and modules are required to be completed before the start of the contract. Travelers must have minimum experience with EPIC EMR. All travelers must complete required modules within 48 hours of receiving login information. Travelers are eligible for reimbursement for hours spent completing modules, with time verified upon contract start. Issues should be communicated as soon as possible. Staff will only float to appropriate units and perform tasks for which they have demonstrated competencies.
