Job Description Tenet South Carolina is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for a job in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: Sterile Processing Technician - Discipline: Allied Health Professional - Duration: Ongoing - 40 hours per week - Shift: 8 hours - Employment Type: Staff /n Shift: Evening, 3:00pm-11:30pm /n Responsible for decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of supplies and equipment dispensed by the department and following infection control practices. - Runs biological and chemical tests at beginning of day and records in appropriate log. Runs test packs sterilizer load and records results. - Receives and cleans soiled instruments and other usable patient supply items in decontamination area. Assembles packages and sterilizes all instruments and equipment. - Sorts all sterile items, stores in proper place, and organizes sterile supplies. Complies with PPE requirements. - Effective and efficient use of equipment, supplies and people. Identifies inefficiencies and inaccuracies, responding appropriately. Actively participates in departmental/facility PI activities. Works to ensure the department meets regulatory standards. - Provides services to other areas of hospital and keeps logs.
