Reports Directly to: Division Vice President
Key Stakeholders: Hospital CEOs, Hospital CFOs
Direct Reports: 5-8

POSITION SUMMARY
Assist the Division Vice President provides leadership direction and ongoing administration and management in large division (in excess of 400 providers) for all aspects of physician operations and ensures strategic initiatives, regulatory and HCA policies and procedures are implemented efficiently and effectively in all clinics. Oversees the strategic direction to significant numbers of physicians and advanced practice providers often in geographically isolated areas and submarkets. Position may have in excess of 20 practice locations and may have more than 150 providers under their direct areas of responsibility. Position serves as the second in command and chief operations officer in PSG largest divisions. The position serves as the market representative for the Division leadership, holding providers accountable to the contracted terms and ensuring that the interest of HCA and the Division are met. The position will communicate regularly (monthly MOR and PRN) with the Division Vice President, Division CFO and the Divisions--- hospitals--- CEOs. This position monitors the activities and operations of all the programs components to ensure the programs meet the Division---s goals of improved quality, efficiency, volume, and patient / physician satisfaction. The position requires moderate travel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Develops Strategy

  • Works effectively with DVP, serving as liaison to hospital CEOs and Division Leadership to meet the needs of the organization and HCA.
  • Helps develop and drive the strategic direction of the markets in conjunction with the Division and the hospital CEOs.
  • Assists in developing and implementing physician development plans.
  • Delivers creative and innovative solutions to the Division Vice President.
  • Makes timely, informed decisions that are in the best interest of our patients, employees, providers, community and HCA.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and innovation, removed barriers and resistance, and enables desirable behavior.
    Operational Efficiency
    • The overall responsibility for the functions of the practices in the assigned markets to ensure maximum, utilization of resources and the efficient delivery of services.
    • ---Interacts on a regular basis with the physician leaders, senior leaders and hospital CEOs to ensure services and clinical operations needs are met.People
      • Work effectively with HCA Physician Services management and support teams and the physician recruiting function of HCA Physician Services and hospital liaisons to support the placement of qualified physicians in employed practices.
      • Builds trust and acts with authenticity to cultivate a culture of integrity, inclusion, and mutual respect.
      • Delivers information in a clear, concise and compelling manner to effectively engage others and achieve desired results.
      • Develops and strengthens collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to advance the care of our patients and the growth of HCA.
      • Leads others to accomplish organizational goals and objectives; provides meaningful coaching and mentoring to increase the capabilities of individuals and teams and drive employee engagement.Finance
        • Participates in annual budgeting process including analysis of staffing levels and recommends actions to eliminate negative variance.
        • Oversees and manages all employed physicians and practices in accordance with HCAPS standards and policies ensuring that each practice meets and/or exceeds their financial targets.Quality
          • Responsible for implementing and tracking all quality initiatives in conjunction with HCA and other regulatory standards, to include facilitation of quarterly quality reviews and providing for problem resolutions.
          • Works with Division Leadership to identify, recommend, and develop new patient care services for implementation.
          • Prepares physician employment contracts in accordance with management expectations while insuring compliance with all applicable regulatory authorities and HCA policies.Growth
            • Develops and implements volume growth initiatives and performance metrics. Works effectively with sales and marketing to enhance our growth initiatives.
            • Commits to the success and financial wellbeing of HCA by challenging others to excel and ho9lding themselves and others accountable for achieving results.

              • Bachelor---s degree Business, Healthcare, or Nursing.--
              • Master---s degree Business, Healthcare, or Nursing--
              • 5+ years of experience in Physician practice management experience--LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, AND TRAINING
