Job Description Job Description Summary JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: Head
Start Preschool Cook JOB CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt RATE OF PAY:
Starting at $15.58 per hour NUMBER OF HOURS PER WEEK: 29 NUMBER OF
MONTHS PER YEAR: 10 months LOCATION: Currently Assigned to Apache
Run Head Start Center Duties DUTIES: The Cook is responsible for
ensuring that meals are served in a safe, timely, and attractive
manner and that all costs associated with preparation are
adequately tracked.This individual is also responsible for ensuring
that USDA, and Virginia Health Department, regulations are
followed. This individual must order food and track inventory. This
position requires regular attendance and punctuality as an
essential part of the job function; Requirements EDUCATION: Prefer
a high school graduate or possess a GED certification, but
job-related experience can be substituted.Must demonstrate basic
competence with job responsibilities; Prefer experience in food
preparation and menu planning, and knowledge of USDA requirements
and must secure ServSafe certification; ADDITIONAL CERTIFICATIONS:
Must have a satisfactory driving record; Must possess or secure
First Aid/CPR Certification; Must secure a ServSafe Certification;
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Must get Fingerprinting, TB screening or
PPD, Physical, CPS, DMV, Criminal Record check; PHYSICAL
REQUIREMENTS :Ability to lift minimum number of 50 pounds; This
position requires bending, lifting, walking, talking, seeing,
sitting, running, speaking, and hearing; Nice To Haves PREFERENCES:
(Current and former Head Start parent, active Agency volunteers,
