Lake House Academy: Healing Through Play. Join us at Lake House
Academy (LHA) as we reconnect families with their daughters,
facilitate the development of self-worth, and create lifelong
experiences of mental health.
LHA is a nationally recognized and accredited therapeutic
boarding school serving girls ages 12-16 with relational
disruptions (adoption, trauma, bullying etc.), emotional regulation
deficits, with diagnoses spanning mood disorders,
neurodevelopmental disorders and trauma disorders. LHA was
established in 2010, provides evidence-based treatment and is
committed to clinical excellence for our students and families.
LHA's Interpersonal Growth Model (IPGM) was designed on the
understanding that our interpersonal relationships drive who we
are, our experience of self worth, and our capacity for
self-regulation and growth. The IPGM is fully integrated across all
aspects of our program. Our unique treatment environment provides
opportunities for our girls to experience secure attachment with
their families and experience healing. LHA clinical interventions
include: Theraplay, Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy, Canine
Assisted Therapy, and Neurofeedback. Due to the nature of the
relational model, family systems interventions are a focal point of
clinical treatment at LHA and we utilize the Theraplay-Based
Marschak Interaction Method to gain a comprehensive understanding
of the family system and design targeted family-based
