Job Description:

Job Title: Qualified Professional Medicaid Services

Employee Status: Salaried, Exempt

Purpose: To provide support, supervision, and coordination of active programs and services to adults with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities


Area of Program Responsibility: The primary responsibility is within the scope of the Intellectual Developmental Disability Services of HVO.

Essential Duties:

1) Facilitate relationships and serve as a link between the company, parents,

guardians, local agencies, and the community.

2) Coordinates, conducts and writes annual, monthly, and quarterly review of client


3) Coordinates service delivery and ensure quality of life for intellectually disabled


4) Assures that programs are developed, coordinated, integrated, reviewed, and implemented in a timely manner.

5) Observes direct care worker implementation of active treatment goals with clients and provides hands-on training as needed.

6) Provides staff with in-service training on a proactive and consistent basis.

7) Implements all procedures regarding client budgets, including but not limited to oversight of monthly financial reports and billing.

8) Assists with the coordination of regular meetings and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.

9) Maintains effective communication between management, staff, families, and other providers.

10) Actively participates, taking a leadership role when assigned, in department meetings and in-services, quality improvement activities, educational training.

11) Attends training and in-service opportunities as scheduled

12) Performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and crisis intervention using agency-trained protocols

13) In the absence of Department supervisor, will assume unit/program leadership

14) Supporting the client in developing various skill-building activities, including: daily and community living skills, socialization skills, adaptation skills, and behavior skills.

15) Attend any meetings that pertain to the progress or planning of assigned client/clients.

16) Be knowledgeable of Waiver, state funded, other Medicaid services documentation and regulations to meet governing standards.

17) Performs administrative tasks as needed, including scheduling, filing, scanning, preparing, and editing letters, reports, memos, and emails.

18) Must be familiar with FDA and ISO standards as it relates to HVO's quality system.

19) Assist program for CARF accreditation and Medicaid audits.

20) Other duties as assigned.

Minimal Requirements/Performance Standards:

  1. Be willing to participate in appropriate in-service training.
  2. Must possess a valid driver's license and be approved by HVO's insurance carrier.
  3. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, drivers license check, and NC Health Care Registry check.
  4. Must be or become certified in First Aid/CPR/NCI.
  5. Effective time management and organization skills.
  6. Must possess skills in written and oral communication.
  7. Strong interpersonal skills.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor Degree (Not Human Services field) & 4+ years full-time experience with population served OR

Bachelor Degree (in Human Services field) & 2+ years full-time experience with population served OR

Master's Degree or Higher & 1+ years full-time experience with population served.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift/push/pull 75 lbs. Ability to handle physical aspects of job, including bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and walking for periods of time.
