Full Time: a position averaging 35+ hours a week.
The Antler Hill Farmyard Assistant II provides support in
agri-tourism programming at Biltmore Estate including providing
regular interaction, information, and delivery of programming
narratives to both individual guests and visiting groups, including
large groups of school age children.Provides guidance to Farmyard
Assistant I staff in daily care of animals at the Antler Hill
Farmyard. In the absence of the Farmyard Manager and Crew Leader,
the Farmyard Assistant II serves as the point person for Farmyard
Assistant I staff in job assignments, animal care and program
Schedules can vary, but hours are between 9:00am-6:00pm
High school diploma or GED preferred. Additional education,
training, and/or certification(s) strongly preferred.
Must have at least six (6) months of animal care experience to
include livestock. The ideal candidate will have previous
experience working with farm animals and livestock in a guest
Solid knowledge of animal and livestock health and care; ability
to identify issues and proactively address and provide treatment(s)
Demonstrated commitment to providing internal and external
Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills;
excellent attention to detail; ability to prioritize work and be

Essential Job Duties:
Participate in daily and seasonal animal care; including, but
not limited to, cleaning stalls, animal feeding and watering,
walking horses to pastures, and general care of all animals in the
Farmyard which may include goats, cows, horses, sheep, pigs,
donkeys, chickens and others.
Assist the Crew Leader in implementing protocol to keep both
Guests and animals safe and healthy.
Communicate general and historical Biltmore and animal
information to Guests in a professional and articulate manner.
Work with and operate a variety of small farm equipment,
including compact utility tractors, rear mount rotary mowers,
manure spreaders, utility vehicles and various tillage
Interact in a positive way with Guests and animals throughout
