Weld Line Lead

Successful candidates are expected to comply with the general
attendance policies and all safety policies and procedures.
Can perform a variety of welding functions, train and lead a line
of production welders. The individual should be capable of using
various types of welding equipment and be familiar with engaging,
training, and leading others. A Weld Team Leader may be required to
perform miscellaneous other tasks in the department and in other
departments as deemed necessary by the supervisor or plant
Ensure safety of team, co-workers, line, and equipment. Generate
opportunities for better safety, efficiency, and quality of
Cleanliness and organization of assigned area, and assistance with
same in other areas in accordance with 5S standards.
Train production team and provide support to other weld line
leaders and supervisors.
Evaluate manpower needs. Provide clear communication to members of
team, other lines, and weld supervisor on matters of safety,
personnel requirements, equipment maintenance, and production.
Execute Line/Parts Set-ups in advance of production start according
to weld schedule.
Work with Material Handling Group to make sure that all parts are

Be familiar with weld schedule, line change overs and job

Minimum Experience and Qualification:
Minimum Education: None Required
Perform simple shop math and convert decimals to fractional
Read a calibrated tape measure.
Read and interpret blueprints.
Read and interpret documents furnished in written, oral, diagram or
schedule form such as safety rules, operating and maintenance
instructions, and quality and procedure manuals.
Adhere to AWS standards
Use excellent communication, training, and leadership skills to
motivate and direct team members.
Exercise sound judgement always, with an emphasis on a safe and
respectful work environment.
Identify and measure material.
Be self-directed but able to take and carry out management
Have forklift certification or ability to receive forklift
Must possess strong organizational skills.
