Participants in the Innovations program must meet the criteria of intellectual disabilities and be Medicaid eligible. North Carolina Outreach is authorized to provide IDD services in Western North Carolina.The ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective organizational skills, able to complete heavy workloads within established time frames, and perform with frequent interruptions and/or distractions
  • Possess a high degree of leadership and a lead by example mindset, make appropriate job decisions following standard office policies and procedures, recognize an emergency situation and take appropriate action, think through the consequences of a decision prior to making it
  • Has effective time management in the office and in the field and adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate

Be aware of all consumer support plans and interventions. Train/advise direct care waiver staff of all consumer support plans/goals and interventions. Monitor progress of person-centered plans. Respond promptly to deficiencies in services provided, if applicable. Provide information regarding changes to the consumer's family and appropriate staff. Manage consumer caseload and documentation. Supervise direct care waiver staff. Supervise internal support staff. Provide an opportunity for training to all direct care waiver staff.Benefits:

      Requirements:
      (a) an individual who holds a license, provisional license, certificate, registration or permit issued by the governing board regulating a human service profession, except a registered nurse who is licensed to practice in the State of North Carolina by the North Carolina Board of Nursing who also has four years of full-time accumulated experience in MH/DD/SA with the population served; or(b) a graduate of a college or university with a Masters degree in a human service field and hasone year of full-time, post-graduate degree accumulated MH/DD/SA experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional who has one year of full-time, postgraduate degree accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling; or(c) a graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in a human service field and has two years of full-time, post-bachelor's degree accumulated MH/DD/SA experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional who has two years of full-time, post-bachelor's degree accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling; or(d) a graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in a field other than humanservices and has four years of full-time, post-bachelor's degree accumulated MH/DD/SA experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional who has four years of full-time, post-bachelor's degree accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling.Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record throughout employment with Support Solutions. Must have unlimited access to an insured vehicle. Must meet state and local requirements regarding criminal background check, sexual offender check, abuse registry, and felony offender list. Must meet all training requirements and keep training current. Must be able to perform heavy lifting in the assistance of service recipients with personal care, if applicable.
