Job Description:
The Charles George VA Medical Center (CGVAMC), Asheville, North
Carolina is recruiting for an Otolaryngologist to join our two
clinically active surgeons. The Otolaryngology department at CGVAMC
provide adult surgical services to the Veteran population in
Western North Carolina and surrounding regions, including South
Carolina and Georgia. The service is supported by a physician
assistant. The ideal candidate would be comfortable in all aspects
general otolaryngology surgery including head and neck
surgery(including but not limited to thyroid, parathyroid, parotid,
larynx, oropharynx), sinus surgery including utilization of
navigation, skin cancer excisions and reconstruction,
resident/medical student/advanced practitioner teaching, and minor
otology procedures; must be able to work collaboratively with other
surgical and medical specialists. Major Duties and
Responsibilities:The staff otolaryngologist will be responsible for
evaluating and treating patients in the otolaryngology clinic.
Their duties will specifically be related to the specialty of
otolaryngology head and neck surgery. Utilizing multiple diagnostic
tools including microscopy, endoscopy as well as imaging and
laboratory analysis they will need to diagnose pathology related to
otolaryngology head and neck surgery.They will be responsible for
scheduling surgical procedures that they are credentialed for and
performing operations in the operating room within the specialty of
otolaryngology had neck surgery.They will be responsible for
initiating consultation when appropriate to other specialists as
well as primary care evaluation when needed.They will interact
directly with audiology as well as speech pathology for
otolaryngology head and neck surgery related pathology.Other duties
such as call as directed.Compensation is commensurate with
education, training, and experience. VA employees enjoy a robust
