All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, color, disability, gender, gender expression, gender identity, genetic information, race, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or status as a protected veteran.Position DescriptionThe Analyst, Prospect Research is responsible for delivering activities and functions of the university pipeline development program on behalf of the office of pipeline development within University Developments department of Prospect Management, Research and Analytics (PMRA), a department consisting of four separate, collaborative offices prospect management, pipeline development, principal gifts research and analysis, and prospect analytics. Reporting to the Associate Director, Prospect Management and Pipeline Development, and working in conjunction with colleagues from PMRA, the Analyst supports Carolinas development activities for the leadership annual giving, major giving and leadership giving prospect segments by providing prospect research services and products to the university-wide development community, within the context of a comprehensive capital campaign. This individual serves in a collaborative, client-facing, liaison, strategy partner role, working closely and regularly with assigned development areas at the university.The Analyst has the following primary duties and responsibilities: Deliver activities and functions of the university pipeline development program. Validate relevant prospects to support fundraising priorities. Conduct biographical, wealth, financial and philanthropic research on prospects, analyze and interpret findings, prepare research products and assign gift capacity ratings. Help develop new tools and strategies to assist the development community in making data-driven decisions to achieve campaign objectives, including segmentation and ranking products, services and visualizations. Provide customer service to clients. Assist with providing prospect research training sessions to the university-wide development community. Collaborate with colleagues in principal gifts research and analysis on prospect identification, validating relevant prospects and other items of shared interest. Collaborate with colleagues in prospect management to facilitate the movement of validated prospects through the pipeline. Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal clients and collaborators across the university-wide development community to deliver the program and achieve program goals. Plan, coordinate and complete pipeline development operations. Interpret, apply and implement pipeline development practices.Minimum Education and Experience RequirementsBachelors degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.Essential Skills, Knowledge and AbilitiesAbility to deliver program elements for the pipeline development office within the department of Prospect Management, Research and Analytics. Ability to develop and maintain productive and collaborative work relationships. Ability to understand client needs, define objectives and determine project scope and deadlines. Ability to evaluate information and make appropriate decisions and recommendations based on that information and assessment. Ability to translate analysis and conclusions into accessible and understandable formats. Ability to remain flexible to meet constantly changing and sometimes opposing demands, white continuing to meet deadlines. Ability to model positive attitude and solid productivity in evolving work climate. Client-focused, service-oriented, collaborative, creative, resourceful, ethical and good natured, with solid interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills. Strong writing, data, analysis, consulting, reporting, project management and technology skills; attention to detail; organized.Preferred QualificationsDemonstrated knowledge of prospect development principles, practices and the tools of the trade. Experience in a complex fundraising organization, preferably within the higher education industry.
