SUMMARY: The Process Engineer ensures customer requirements are met by reviewing specifications and internal work instructions. The Process Engineer will develop and report metrics to drive improvement efforts company wide, govern the training process, and oversee record retention and documentation control.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ISO* Develop and design robust corrective actions for known problems.* Utilize established problem solving techniques such as 8D to reduce process variation.* Review internal documentation to ensure it meets the necessary quality standards and customer criteria.* Attend customer meetings (project kick off, coordination review and close out).* Ability to create, revise, and audit ISO work instructions* Ability to generate, interpret, analyze, and communicate results using management tools, graphs, and reports.* Conducting maturity assessments against the process baselines to highlight areas of improvement or concerns.* Identifying inconsistencies and problems, bringing to the attention of management and participating in problem resolution.KPI* Centralize repository and define methodology for 30+ different KPIs across 3 business units.* Measure and report KPIs to the leadership team and customers.* Validate measurement systems as appropriate.* Communicate and collaborate cross-functionally to assist the team to solve operational issues* Establish support to authors and process owners in defining and producing documents and records; maintain documentation and records* Establish and manage proper document review processes* Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required.* Maintains and updates Quality Management System* Reporting to the Director of Business Process Optimization, individual contributor develops operational compliance to standard and customer needs.* Maintains document control and record retention for ISO certification initiatives for ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and future certification expansion* Supports centralized repository for customer KPI measurement for all major business unitsCustomer* Solicits and facilitates customer feedback, communicates expectations and facilitates complaint resolution* Measures vendor performance* Provides program leadership to project managers and leaders* Must be able to ensure delivery of customer product by target deadline (may require work outside normal business hours)* Required to adhere to all BLS policies, procedures, DOT and OSHA safety rules and regulations.* Follows all workplace processes and standards in support of the ISO-9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and OHSAS 45001 Quality certification programs.* Other duties as assigned..SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis job has no supervisory responsibilities.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE* Bachelor's degree strongly preferred, with a focus in Engineering or Transportation and Logistics preferred* 3-5 years of related experience* Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control* Ability to process and communicate information using Microsoft Office software* Ability to meet deadlines and be accountable* Must have a strong sense of ownership, urgency and initiative* Excellent analytical, troubleshooting skills, and demonstrated proficiency with problem solving* Must possess clear and concise verbal and written communication skills* Ability to work well with others as part of a team while under tight time constraints* Understanding of ISO requirements preferred* Experience with new service deliverables preferred* Knowledge of root cause analysis tools such as Six Sigma, 8D, and/or equivalent quality training preferred
