Description of Work * This is a REPOST of position 60076995. Previous applicants are still under consideration and do not need to reapply.* This position is classified as a Correction Enterprise Supervisor I. This position is located at Correction Enterprises Craggy Laundry Facility near the Asheville Correctional Institution in Asheville, NC. The Correction Enterprise Supervisor I trains inmates assigned to his/her work area. Supervision includes: Receiving, Sorting (Soiled Linen), Weighing, Washing, Drying, Ironing, Folding, and Visual Inspection of Finished/Packaged Products The Correction Enterprise Supervisor I provide inmates with orientation/training of plant procedures and safety training. Training includes: * Orientation/Training * Proper Use of Machinery * Safety Training/Proper Handling * Infection Control * Laundry Chemicals * Maintaining Good Housekeeping This position is responsible for reporting daily inmate time records. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) withState Benefits. This position will be working 4 10 hour days. Note to Current State Employees: The salary grade for this position is GN06. If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL the following: * Must have prior supervisory experience. * Must demonstrate prior experience in laundry or hospitality industry. * Must demonstrate prior experience training others and must show where this knowledge was gained. MANAGEMENT PREFERENCE:Management prefers an applicant with the following: * Current Class A or B CDL License. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and a minimum of one year of related industry/service experience; or an equivalent combination of training and directly related experience.
