Junaluska Animal Hospital is a 10 DVM practice located in the mountains just west of Asheville in Waynesville, North Carolina next to beautiful lake Junaluska . Founded in 1953, we are a full-service animal hospital providing veterinary care to dogs, cats, and pocket pets/exotics. We utilize electronic medical records (Cornerstone), have Idexx out lab and Idexx in-house diagnostics including Sedivue, state of the art anesthesia monitoring equipment and DR x-ray. Our facility boasts 11 exam rooms, a 2 table surgical suite, ultrasound, Companion CTS Duo therapy laser and orthopedic surgery capabilities. We leverage and schedule our technical team to support our DVMs and schedule 2 technical teammates per DVM. We are currently seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join the team, so we encourage you to apply today!We are open 7 days a week for GP and urgent care needs for our community. We live by these values and expect all teammates to treat each other, clients and patients with a WAG mentality.*Registered Veterinary Technician Role Requirements** Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (CVT, RVT, LVT, or LVMT) or the ability to transfer credentials from state to state.* Associate degree in Veterinary Technology*Registered Veterinary Technician Responsibilities** Professional client communication and education obtaining medical histories and symptoms* Laboratory procedures including but not limited to: hematology, cytology, urinalysis, microbiology, blood chemistry, and fecals* Diagnostic imaging and implementing safety protocols of fellow staff members* Nursing skills including: restraining patients, administering medications PO/IV/SUBQ/IM, applying and maintaining bandages, proficient IV catheter placement and venipuncture, surgery prep, and anesthesia monitoring* Competently perform dental prophylaxis*Registered Veterinary Technician Benefits** Work with Newsweek's #1 Ranked Healthcare Company in 2023* Professional Development Assistance - You have goals.
